Project 1: 2D/3D Sprite in UE5 and Maya

The first Cohort 21 assignment of the fall. The goal was to create either a 2D or 3D sprite using both Unreal and Maya. Professor Nick showed us an example of a Super Mario 2D pixel art and a small spaceship 3D pixel block scene.

The 3D scene interested me much more than the 2D one so I began pursuing. I was almost immediately set on the idea of a giant pixel mushroom in a Minecraft-like style.

Not going to lie, I was unaware that I was meant to take progress shots as I was working on this piece. I almost lost the entire thing when I deleted the blueprint by accident (DON'T DO THAT FYI). I was luckily able to find it in the OneDrive recycling bin.

Anyways, here's the finished product (along with a GIF). (Also I don't know how to write blogs)

(Give the GIF a few seconds to load)
